Committed Couples Program
Couples counselling is a type of therapy that helps partners improve their relationships. By seeking couples counselling you are committing to rebuilding the connection between you and your partner(s). There are a wide range of issues that can be addressed in couples counselling. These may include: conflict, miscommunication, an affair, sex related issues and/or external stressors. Couples counselling can be helpful at any stage and we deliver premarital counselling, common-law/marital counselling and family counselling. Couples Counselling can help regardless of marital status, age, faith, race, or sexual orientation.
Metamorphose Counselling and Consultation Ltd. has three program options for committed couples. All couples counselling options are based on the Sound Relationship House Theory created by The Gottman Institute.
Option 1: 8-Week Group Couples Counselling Workshop
Option 2: 3-Day Weekend Couples Counselling Retreat
Option 3: 8-10 Session Couples Counselling with a Relationship Therapist
Option 1 - Eight Week Group Couples Counselling Workshop
The group counselling workshop is designed to share psycho-education about the 7 principles for making relationships work, a book written by John Gottman and Nan Silver. Each week the facilitator will review a different module with the wider group and will give couples private time to share how the information can improve their relationship using worksheets from the couples guide. Option 2 - A 3-Day Weekend Couples Counselling Retreat
The 3-Day Weekend Couples Counselling Retreat is designed to help couples emotionally connect in person by pairing group psycho-education and couples therapy sessions. The retreat will focus on the 7 principles for making relationships work, a book written by John Gottman and Nan Silver. Each day couples will have a full-day itinerary with mandatory and optional activities for partners to attend. The facilitator will guide each couple through the day’s activities. Option 3 - Couples Counselling with a Relationship Therapist (8-10 sessions)
The couples counselling session is designed to assist partners sharing presenting issues, gaining awareness and understand, and learning tools to practice shared meaning by using the 7 principles for making relationships work, a book written by John Gottman and Nan Silver. The couple guides the sessions and brings the issues they would like to work on each week. The therapist will share tools from the 7 principles that can help the couples navigate their current challenges.
